More about Jem -

In 2026, Jem enters a bold new era with the announcement of her highly anticipated debut album, tattoos used to come off in the pool, set for release on August 28. A deeply personal collection shaped by growth, memory, identity and finding your own way, the album marks the beginning of Jem’s most exciting chapter yet revealing a bolder, more assured voice as she continues to evolve as an artist.

Since her debut in 2021, Jem has carved out a distinctive place in the Australian music landscape, earning widespread acclaim for her celestial vocals and evocative songwriting. Her rise has been marked by an impressive run of accolades, including the NIMA New Talent of the Year award and Queensland Music Awards’ Indigenous Artist of the Year in 2022. In 2024, she claimed the Queensland Music Awards’ Best Pop Award and Song of the Year for her standout track King of Disappointment, alongside the AIR Music Awards’ Song of the Year. She continued this momentum in 2025, taking home the Queensland Music Awards’ Indigenous Artist of the Year, before repeating her 2024 success in 2026, winning both Best Pop Award and Song of the Year for Kiss Me Like You’re Leaving.

Jem’s music has resonated well beyond Australia, with international showcases including five coveted performances at The Great Escape in the UK in 2023. That same year, her spellbinding rendition of The Sweet Escape on triple j’s Like A Version introduced her voice to a wider audience, cementing her reputation as a compelling interpreter as well as a songwriter. In 2026, Jem was invited back to the Like A Version studio, delivering a stunning rendition of Men At Work’s Who Can It Be Now? alongside fellow Australian artist Dan Sultan.

On stage, Jem has shared her magnetic presence as a special guest for artists including Busby Marou, Kita Alexander, King Stingray, Thelma Plum, Peter Garrett, Tina Arena, Jessica Mauboy, Tim Finn and Dan Sultan. She has also enjoyed sold-out headline tours throughout 2023, 2024 and 2025, alongside a standout performance welcoming in the new year as part of the ABC New Year's Eve fireworks celebration national telecast from the Sydney Opera House.

A proud Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung woman, Jem weaves a deep sense of identity, emotional truth and cultural richness through her songwriting. Her work is grounded in storytelling, intimate, reflective and deeply human, creating songs that linger long after the final note. With the release of tattoos used to come off in the pool, Jem Cassar-Daley is stepping fully into her own as an artist: bold, honest and ready for whatever comes next.
