From their debut solo album of poem songs 'The Night’s Insomnia,’ to the ARBA award winning 2021 album 'Let Loose The Beating Birds,' Jen and her stellar band (James Brown, Paul Angas, Sam Cagney and Mark Seddon) have appeared at festivals and venues throughout Australia. Dynamic, intimate and adventurous new music with influences ranging from Feist, Iron & Wine and Anais Mitchell, these are tender folk songs flung into evocative, experimental rock infused soundscapes with poetry and storytelling at the centre.

Their 2023 album 'Hum Of The Mettle' featuring the words of five of Australia’s leading poets (Ali Cobby Eckermann, Kevin Brophy, Renee Pettitt-Schipp, Maria Zajkowski and Graham Kershaw) speaks of love and desolation, loss and memory, the resilience of country and the stories held within it. Hum Of The Mettle won the ARBA Roots album of the Year award for 2023.

Jen and her band are currently recording new music for release later in 2025.

Aza Newland 

Aza Newland is a musician living on Ramindjeri Country, with a strong passion for ‘connection’. Drawing on childhood influences of 90s feminists and 70s folk singers, Aza began writing her own music at the age of 9, and has since used songwriting as a tool for whistleblowing and journaling. Having completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology & Geography and Environmental Science, Aza is a natural environmentalist and humanitarian with ambitions to create art that is culturally healing. Today, Aza uses music to connect people through the language of instrumental and lyrical storytelling.
