Jen Myzel Album Release Concert: ‘Emet: Songs from My First Years of Motherhood'

You are invited to a very special album-release concert, celebrating the joys of motherhood. 

While I was birthing my son Emet, all I could do was sing. I knew from very early on that music was a shared language of our souls. Since that day, a collection of songs have come through, inspired by the journey of early motherhood--silly, soulful, sleep-deprived, and everything in between. I recorded them over the last two years and they are now ready to be shared with you. 

Many of the incredible artists who contributed to this album will be joining us at the show, including Sarah + Karisha of Mamuse, Lydia Violet, Liyanna Sadowsky and more!

We will kick off the afternoon with a music set by Sebastopol Kid's Musician's Ali and Warren Mann!

Please come celebrate the birth of this compilation, 'Emet: Songs from My First Years of Motherhood'. My intention when creating this album was to capture the memories and love of these early years while also supporting other young parents to remember the joy even when they are in the most grueling and painful moments of becoming new parents in our modern world. I hope these songs will resonate with everyone, as a balm of peace and remembrance of the preciousness of life.

Thank you in advance for your support of this music. It takes so much time, love and resources to put together a collection of songs, so I thank you for lifting me and them up into the world so they can do their magic in the ears and hearts of many. 

Adults and Children of all ages are welcome to the show. Please bring cozy things to sit on! The floor is mostly an empty space and I want to fill it up with cushions, blankets, pillows, etc. to create a warm, nourishing environment to snuggle up and be serenaded in.

Jen Myzel is a Sebastopol-based musician, teacher, mama bear, partner and community member. She is also a facilitator of community-based deep ecology rituals called the Work that Reconnects. ‘Emet: Songs from my first years of motherhood’ is Jen’s fourth studio album, along with her children’s sing-a-long book, Yellow Lotus Flower, which has sold over 1,000 copies and been praised by her elder Joanna Macy as “a story for our times.”
