Jenny Mitchell live at the Ngaio Town Hall
Event description
On Friday April 26th, Wellington based songwriter Jenny Mitchell is bringing warmth, truth and family harmonies to the Ngaio Town Hall. This show is part of a string of North Island gigs in Palmerston North, Auckland and Whangārei before Jenny heads to Paihia to headline the 2024 Bay of Islands Country Rock Festival. The Ngaio show is an all ages gig, alcohol free gig but there will be non-alcoholic drinks, snacks & merch available via Eftpos or cash.
Jenny is a dynamic storyteller who is rapidly capturing fans across the motu and the globe - think the best of The Chicks + Norah Jones. Audiences will be wrapped in the energy of Jenny, Aaron Stewart (bass), Michael Muggeridge (mandolin), little sister Nicola Mitchell (guitar and vocals) and special guest Maddison Connor; a 16 year old Nelson based musician who will be opening the show.
Originally from Gore, the award-winning storyteller is now based in Wellington and is excited to share new work on this tour. Since releasing her most recent album, Tug of War (2022), Jenny has played sold out shows around the country, shared festival stages with Dave Dobbyn and was the only New Zealander selected to play at global music conference Folk Alliance International in 2023 (Kansas City, U.S). Tug of War was nominated for an Aotearoa Music Award, Australian Golden Guitar Award and includes the 2023 APRA Best Country Song; Trouble Finds a Girl.
