Jenny’s Place opened the first feminist women’s refuge in Newcastle on 14 September 1977.
Since then we have helped tens of thousands of local women and children to escape violence and start new lives.
We warmly invite you to join our Board and staff to celebrate our 45th anniversary over breakfast at NEX.
We’ve come a long way from the three-bedroom cottage in Islington that started it all.
Be inspired by our determined pioneers, who volunteered their time and talents over more than four decades to help women and children.
They will be interviewed by our fabulous MC, NBN Newsreader, Natasha Beyersdorf.
Hear from Alicia Floyer, local Solicitor and brave survivor after suffering family violence and being exposed to domestic violence, who is passionate about helping others to find their courage and do great things!
