Event description

THE TRAIL

Join us a scenic 6.9-mile hike with about 1,050 ft of elevation gain. through Minnewaska State Park!

We’ll traverse shale ridgelines and dwarf pine barrens, venture through narrow ice-cave crevices, and finish at the dramatic 187-ft Verkeerderkill Falls.

This trail is rated hard due to its rugged terrain, some steep climbs, and technical passages.

Transportation is included in the ticket price! Your ticket price covers more than just the hike; it also covers the essential fees required to keep our organization running smoothly. Your support allows us to continue organizing fantastic outdoor adventures for everyone.

EVENT DETAILS

8:30 AM - Meet inside Le Cafe Coffee (444 Warren St)

8:45 AM - Depart

10:25 AM - Arrive at the trailhead

5:00 PM - Finish Hike

5:10 PM - Arrive at On The Rocks

6:30 PM - Depart

8:30 PM - Arrive in Jersey City

*Please note we limit our hikes to small groups for safety, comfort, and a better trail experience. Our goal is to return to Jersey City by 8:30 PM, but exact timing depends on group pacing.

DRIVERS

Please register your car with this link (here). Pre-registration with NY State Parks is required!

SAFETY

Our team will carry a fully stocked first aid kit, including bandages, Advil, Benadryl, extra electrolytes, and motion sickness medication, to help ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable throughout the hike. Our experienced team includes a certified hiker and first-aid certified individuals to accompany you throughout the hike.

We highly recommend hiking boots or shoes for ankle support and traction. Additionally, consider bringing:

  • Bug/tick spray

  • Trekking poles

  • Sunglasses

  • At least 1.5 liter of water per person

  • Snacks/light lunch
