Event description
Join Jersey City Connects for a scenic 7.6-mile loop through Harriman State Park, where we’ll pass tranquil lakes, peaceful forest paths, and rocky viewpoints. With just over 1,000 feet of elevation gain, this hike is moderately challenging but well worth the effort for the views and variety of terrain.

9:15AM – Depart
10:30AM – Arrive at Lake Skannatati trailhead
2:45PM – Conclude hike!
3:00PM - Lunch at Seven Lakes Station
4:00PM - Head back to Jersey City
5:00PM - Arrve in Jersey City

HIKING RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
This agreement is valid for all guided hiking, backpacking, camping, and related outdoor activities organized by Connects Marketing and Events LLC ("Company") from January 2025 to December 2025 ("Validity Period"). By purchasing this ticket, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree to the terms outlined herein, which are applicable to all activities I participate in during the Validity Period.
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any of these activities provided by the Company during the Validity Period, I acknowledge, appreciate, and agree as follows:
Activities and Risks: I understand that the activities include hiking, backpacking, camping, and potentially other outdoor activities as described in the promotional material. These activities involve inherent risks caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, participants' condition, equipment, vehicular traffic, lack of hydration, and other people's actions, including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, and Company employees. I understand and acknowledge these risks and accept them as part of my participation.
Assumption of Risk: I am aware of the inherent risks of these activities and voluntarily participate. I assume full responsibility for any personal injury, accidents, or illness (including death) and any loss of, damage to, or theft of property.
Release of Liability: I agree to release, and discharge Connects Marketing and Events LLC, its agents, owners, officers, volunteers, participants, employees, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action, which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of Company’s equipment or facilities, including any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Company.
Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability for Transportation: I understand that as part of the activities, I will be transported by a vehicle operated by Connects Marketing and Events LLC or its designated contractors. I recognize that travelling in any vehicle involves inherent risks that may lead to physical injury or death, or property damage. These risks include but are not limited to, accidents caused by the vehicle's condition, the driver's actions, other vehicles' actions, and weather and road conditions.
Medical Treatment: In the event of injury or medical emergency, I consent to receive medical treatment deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during any activity. I agree to be responsible for all medical care and transportation costs provided on my behalf.
Fitness to Participate: I declare that I am physically fit and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person. I will not participate if I am experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or any other communicable disease.
Cancellation Policy: I understand Company’s cancellation policy and the circumstances under which I may be entitled to a refund, credit, or reschedule.
Continuous Disclosure: I agree to disclose any significant changes in my health or physical condition to the Company before participating in further activities within the Validity Period.
Acknowledgement of Extended Validity: this waiver is effective for the entire Validity Period. It covers multiple participation in activities without the need to sign additional waivers for each event, subject to the terms and conditions herein.
Photography and Videography: I may be photographed or videotaped, and I irrevocably grant to Connects Marketing and Events, LLC, its successors, assigns, and licensees the exclusive right and authority to use, copyright and publish my voice, picture, name, and likeness for advertising, publicity, or promotional and other purposes in connection with Connects Marketing and Events, LLC. in any form, including and without limitation, social media outlets, newspapers, magazines, motion pictures, game programs, audio tapes, videotapes, television broadcasts and web pages. The right shall belong to Connects Marketing and Events, LLC. at all times and shall survive the termination of this document. I release Connects Marketing and Events, LLC. from any claims, damages, or liability arising from using the photographers and/or videos, including any claims for defamation, invasion of privacy or infringement of moral rights. No additional compensation shall be paid or payable to me for any right or use granted to Connects Marketing and Events, LLC. by me.
By purchasing this ticket, I agree I have carefully read this waiver and release of liability, including the assumption of risk and indemnity agreements, and fully understand their contents. I know that by signing this document, I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing this agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. This includes acknowledging the risks associated with the activities and any transportation provided or arranged by Connects Marketing and Events LLC
