What You’ll Gain at Jesus Club Conference 2025

Church Together
This year’s Jesus Club Conference is all about doing Church Together. Nothing compares to being in the room — connecting with coordinators and leaders from across the country, learning from expert keynote speakers, and sharing encouragement with others on the same journey.

Every session is designed to be practical and ministry-ready — so you’ll leave equipped with skills and resources you can use straight away to welcome and disciple adults with intellectual disabilities in your church.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll experience:

1. Start with God’s Heart and Real Stories

Bible Talk: Church Together — Rev. Joel Moroney
Be inspired by God’s heart for inclusion: “God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth” (1 Tim 2:4 ERV).

A Jesus Club Member’s Story
Hear directly from one of our members as they share their faith journey and what following Jesus means to them.

2. Equip Yourself with Core Ministry Skills

Writing Biblical Lessons for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities — Rev. Joel Moroney
Discover how the Jesus Club team writes biblical lessons that clearly communicate gospel truths in an accessible way.

Communication Partner Training — Leanna Fox
Internationally acclaimed speech pathologist and Jesus Club leader, Leanna Fox, will equip us to better support people with communication difficulties. Learn how to improve everyday conversations, boost participation, and enhance well-being through Communication Partner Training (CPT).

3. Tackle Real-Life and Sensitive Issues

Sex by the Book — Rev. Bec Baines
How do we wisely guide adults with intellectual disabilities as they explore sexuality and adulthood? Rev. Bec Baines, in partnership with Dr Patricia Weerakoon, will share insights from their new easy-read book designed specifically for this audience.

Supporting People with Severe Behaviours — Rachel Emmett
Occupational Therapist Rachel Emmett will speak on how churches can love and include people with complex needs — from challenging behaviours to supporting isolated parents and carers, and even engaging local disability services.

4. Make Church More Accessible

Accommodation Options for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities — Michael & Alison Evans
What happens when Jesus Club members need a home beyond their family? This panel will explore accommodation options (including Christian housing) and provide insight to help clubs connect with parents and carers.

5. Celebrate and Look Ahead

Highlights from the Past Year — Josh Reid
National Director Josh Reid will share the incredible ways God has been at work — from launching new clubs to appointing our first Club Mentor.

The Future of Jesus Club — Michael Evans
President Michael Evans will cast vision for what’s next as Jesus Club continues to grow.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be equipped, encouraged, and inspired to see adults with intellectual disabilities fully included in the life of God’s church.

Jesus Club Conference 2025 is primarily for volunteer coordinators and leaders who help run the Jesus Club program as part of the ministry of their local church. However, the Conference is also open to the general public and we encourage anyone to attend who is interested in how the local church can effectively connect with and communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ with adults with intellectual disabilities. In other words, this conference is for anyone who wants to do Church Together.

This year the Conference is run both in-person in Sydney CBD and live-streamed online.

We encourage everyone to attend the in-person venue to maximise networking opportunities with coordinators and leaders from other clubs as well as meet the keynote speakers.

The presentations and workshop are currently being finalised. Be assured that this will be a highly practical conference where you will take skills with you back to your church. This conference will equip you welcome adults with intellectual disabilities and do Church Together.

  • At-venue tickets include a delicious catered morning-tea and lunch.

  • The live-stream will be recorded and made available to all registered delegates.

Our key theme for this Conference is Church Together: Jesus Club and Your Local Church

Please share this event with anyone you know that could benefit from attending this conference at the venue or online.

(All registered delegates - at the venue or online - will receive the video recordings of the Conference. So... if you are unavailable on the day please do register so that you will receive the recordings.)
