Jhana Allan with Emily-Rose at The Servo
Event description
Join Uralla-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jhana Allan for her Passing Shadow EP launch tour, with support from ARIA award winning musician Emily-Rose.
Jhana is that rare combination of a musician who has a deep understanding of roots music and yet brings an entirely original perspective with her songwriting, mandolin playing, and fearless arrangement ideas. While her album Darkest Night shows her ability to live comfortably in the neo-traditional bluegrass world, her new EP Passing Shadow, due to be released in September 2022, pushes those elements even further towards her own, completely compelling sound; rooted in her own experience, and reflective of the contemporary folk and rock sounds of Australia.
Fresh from releasing album ‘Upon These Open Skins’ with Emily-Rose and the Wild Things, songstress and keys player Emily-Rose Sarkova will be delivering a rare solo set. Lyrics of weight and beauty, underpinned by an earthy and profound fusion of acoustic and electric worlds, compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Hiatus Kaiyote.
