Event description
9:30 Arrive, check in
9:45 Ice breaker team games - Katakana, Kanji team games
10:00 Watch commercials to get some ideas, talk about ‘commercial language’ – support information will be given
10:15 Students form groups of 3 or 4 made up of at least 2 different schools
Each group will be given a Japanese item to create a commercial about
They will have 2 hours to make a commercial of 1-2 minutes for the item.
They will create a storyboard, write a script, film, edit and upload!
Recess break included in this time (Recess provided)
12:00 Lunch (Please bring your own)
12:30 All commercials to be shown to the group
1:45 Winners announced
2:00 Close
Who: Any Year 10 students of Japanese as a second language
8 entrants per school - places strictly limited
