ABOUT JMI JAZZ ORCHESTRA
The JMI Jazz Orchestra is an 18-piece big band made of up of students from the Jazz Music Institute. The JMI Jazz Orchestra pays tribute to the incredible music of Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Through performing the music of these legends gives the students a strong foundation of understanding the breadth of Big Band music. The JMI Jazz Orchestra performs regularly around Brisbane at various locations and community festivals. In 2022 the JMI Jazz Orchestra toured to Port Macquarie for Big band Blast and performed at the Brisbane Big Band festival, The Old Museum plus other performances around Brisbane.
This performance will feature a range of music from 1930’s up to 2000’s plus special guest vocalists….

Those who wish to watch a JMI Live performance in person will need to please pre-purchase a ticket through our Humanitix page ($20 ENTRY+BF). No tickets will be sold on the door.
JMI Live is a COVID-SAFE venue.

When purchasing a ticket, you agree to only attend a JMI Live event if you are in good health and have not been in close contact with a person who is COVID-19 positive or has travelled to a COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days.
- Please ensure that whilst within our venue, you are adhering to social distancing measures as per venue signage. Please ensure you are also implementing strong hygienic practices (e.g. using hand-sanitiser, thoroughly washing hands and covering the mouth when sneezing or coughing).
