Jo Lloyd Workshop - EOI

TheJo Lloyd Workshop & Long Table Forumpresents a unique opportunity for South-East Queensland dance, movement artists and choreographers to work with Jo Lloyd’s distinct choreographic methodologies, connecting the imagination with the physical.

This stimulating two-hour workshop will involve Jo’s progressive warm-up, where detailed verbal propositions initiate improvised explorations to prepare the body. Following this, Jo will share her choreographic methods to generate and collect movement, working with spontaneity and ‘surrealisation’, as well as teaching choreography from her current work.

The workshop will enable participants to access varied movement states, individual patterns, negotiations and tendencies, and gain information from perceiving one another. It asks, What do we need to know in order to do/perform the dance? How do you form the unresolved dance?

Suited to dancers with some training/experience – including recent graduates, current students and trained dancers. Jo welcomes dancers from many styles including but not limited to classical, contemporary, hip hip, circus, cabaret, impro and traditional styles.
