Joanna Is Skywalking follows a journey to Johannesburg and into the heart of Pantsula — a South African dance form grounded in community, identity and social expression.

What begins as an encounter with the dance and the people who carry it becomes something much bigger when a Pantsula video reaches more than a million views online. The film explores the unexpected opportunities and questions that follow, including cultural ownership, creative rights and the responsibilities that come with sharing dance across borders.

At its centre is a celebration of movement as a powerful connector — bringing people together through dance, respect and a shared sense of humanity.
