Event description

Join Joe Walker in conversation with Sam Roggeveen—one of Australia’s smartest voices on defence and foreign policy

Sam Roggeveen is Director of the Lowy Institute’s International Security Program and author of The Echidna Strategy, a bold and independent rethinking of Australia’s defence posture. Previously, he was a senior strategic analyst at the Office of National Assessments, where he focused on nuclear strategy and Asian military forces.

Topic: In a time of rising tensions and geopolitical uncertainty, can Australia still count on its alliance with the US? How should it prepare for China’s growing influence in the region? In this conversation, Joe and Sam will explore Australia’s defence future, challenging long-held assumptions about security and strategy.
