Join Joe Walker in conversation with Abul Rizvi—one of the key architects of Australia’s modern migration system

Abul Rizvi is a former Deputy Secretary of the Department of Immigration. Abul managed Australia’s migration program from 1995 to 2007 and was instrumental in reshaping Australia’s migration policy to focus on skilled migration and increasing overseas student intake. He holds a PhD in population and immigration policy from the University of Melbourne.

Topic: In this conversation, Joe and Abul will be unpacking the past, present and future of Australia's migration policy—one of the most contentious and politically charged issues ahead of the federal election.
