John Carroll Kirby w/Setwun and Blauhaus

An epic night of funk-dappled soundscape bliss with John Carroll Kirby at his only Sydney show.

Though Kirby’s background is steeped in jazz, his signature sound blends genres and styles. A sought-after collaborator based in LA, he's worked with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Frank Ocean, Harry Styles, and Solange. Kirby earned a Song of the Year Grammy nomination in 2023 for his contribution to Steve Lacy’s “BadHabit.”

Since 2020, he’s focused on his vibrant solo career—releasing 8 LPs and earning two Libera Award nominations for Jazz Album of the Year. His work has received praise from Pitchfork, and The Fader. As a film composer, Kirby scored the soundtrack for Cryptozoo, which received the NEXT Innovator Award at Sundance. Most recently, he scored TheLuckiest Man in America starring Paul Walter Hauser and Walton Goggins.

Setwun is the musical brainchild of composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ, Josh Panakera-Molony. Already a much respected figure on Eora (Sydney)'s underground scene, the hype for those on the outside has been bubbling with every small offering and tip-offs from some of the world's most revered.

Blauhaus is the project of Zigi Blau, multi-instrumentalist, improviser and music director from Eora (Sydney), AUS.
