Perhaps best known as the creative force behind confrontational noise-punk band Clockcleaner, which erupted from Philadelphia’s DIY scene in the '00s, John Sharkey III’s solid underground credentials also include Puerto Rico Flowers and Dark Blue. Now based in Canberra, this year he released his debut solo album, Shoot Out the Cameras. More informed by classic country and folk storytellers, it's a dark reckoning of a year spent navigating bushfires and a pandemic.
