Workshop Overview

International education is entering a new era. Rapid advances in technology, changing government policies, shifting student expectations, demographic change, and emerging models of global engagement are reshaping how institutions attract, support, and engage international students.

Facilitated by Jonathan Chew, IEAA Vice President and Chief Insights Officer at Navitas, this CISWA-IEAA interactive workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to explore key trends and forces shaping the future of international education.

The workshop will examine the current state of the sector and consider how institutions can prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead.  Working in small groups, participants will reflect on the effectiveness of their current recruitment, partnership, and internationalisation strategies, and discuss how these may need to evolve as the sector moves into this next phase.

Together, we will explore questions such as:

  • Where have we come from as a sector, and why are we here today?

  • What will international education look like over the next three to five years?

  • What future policy changes might we see, and how could this impact on our institutions?

  • How might international student recruitment evolve in response to changing global conditions?

  • What will partnership development look like in the future?

  • What role will transnational education (TNE) play in expanding global engagement and student opportunity?

Whether you work in leadership, strategy, operations, student engagement or international education, join colleagues from across the sector for a thought-provoking conversation about the future of international education and the practical steps institutions can take to prepare for the next era.

Networking drinks will follow the workshop, included in your ticket price. Venue TBC
