Joshua TREE at Muse
Event description
This event is a hybrid of concert and workshop to create an optimal space of transformation, insight and light hearted fun.Your time with me will include Music of the Plants -a device that gives voice to the plant kingdom.I first discovered this during my time in the Italian Spiritual community of Damanhur. The lessons of the plant kingdom are profound and will give you the experience to develop your own communication techniques and tools to develop deeper connection to these messengers of the earth.
As a multi instrumentalist, i will bring instruments of the globe that have their own unique frequencies for deeper meditation backed with the latest research into how sound waves and frequencies can allow us access different states of consciousness. It will be a shamanic inspired sound journey inspired by the many cultures ground in earth based wisdoms.Â
I have been playing Yidaki (didgeridoo) for over 20 years, and have learnt a lot by sitting alongside Yolngu songmen in the Northern Territory at many events and ceremonies for many years. The sound weaves will include flavours of Africa with Doun Doun, Djembe, Fulani and the Ngoni, the middle east with Darbouka, frame drums and flutes, as well as the cosmic with overtone chanting and handpan.
Inspired by Sufi music, the Tao and Indigenous Australia, be prepared to journey into otherworldly realms and at times you may find yourself on your feet in ecstatic joy as the rhythms pulse through your being.I use live looping and nature recordings i have made from my mountain rainforest home.
I look forward to seeing you at this event.
