Join Matt Poll, Manager Indigenous Programs at the Australian National Maritime Museum, on a fascinating journey of Sydney’s Aboriginal past. Learn about who lived near the sea in Bondi and Sydney Harbour and how the marine environment shaped environmental and cultural practices and influenced people's daily lives.

Join us for nibbles and drinks at 5.45pm for a 6pm start.

About Matt

Matt Poll is the Manager Indigenous Programs at the Australian National Maritime Museum. Matt is of South Sea and Torres Strait Islander heritage. His most recent exhibition, Shaped by the Sea, is a permanent gallery at the Australian National Maritime Museum exploring our vast continent's deep-time history. Matt is also a member of the Reimagining the British Museum working group. Before joining the Maritime Museum, Matt was Assistant Curator of Indigenous Heritage collections at the University of Sydney's Chau Chak Wing Museum and the Artistic Director of Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Cooperative. His curatorial and publications work is centred on prioritising First Nations voices across Australian and international museum collections and exhibitions.
