Journey Om Kirtan at Sawmill Park Sept. 7th 4 pm
Event description
Journey Om a Kirtan Band for the Community
On the afternoon of the September full moon celebrate with Abby Spotskey, Alec Soderberg, Kira Semanas, and Russ Wiedman as they come together to offer their hearts through instruments and voice to share the magic of kirtan with the community of Northern Arizona. As we gather at Elizabeth "Liz" C. Archuleta County Park - formerly know as Sawmill Park, we invite you to bring your whole family. All are welcome.
On this special afternoon, we will chant together, eat together, and dance ecstatically! After Kirtan, about 5:30pm, we will offer food - Prasad. You are invited to bring food to share as well! Once the food is gone, about 6 pm, we will dance. You can also walk the nearby labyrinth.
Kirtan is a style of devotional singing that invites all to participate. Chanting in a call and response style of singing elevates the singers and entire room to a new level of consciousness. If you feel the need to connect with yourself and others, and desire to uplift your emotional well being, please join us. Singing in community tones the vagus nerve and reduces the hormones that cause stress. Come sing to help make the world a better place.
Bring a blanket or chair for comfort on the grass.
Make a payment in advance, help us plan for the celebration. Or a donation can be made at the event.
