Event description

This Christmas, treat yourself to a musical feast with two of the most beautiful choral works ever written: the Oratorio de Noël by Saint-Saëns and the Ceremony of Carols by Britten directed by Thomas Nikora and Sam Berkahn.

These two masterpieces will transport you to a world of wonder and joy, as they celebrate the birth of Christ with ancient and modern texts, sung in Latin, Middle English and Modern English.

You’ll hear the angelic voices of five vocal soloists and a mixed choir, accompanied by a string orchestra, an organ and featuring Michelle Velvin playing Harp. You’ll be moved by the grace, charm, and emotion of the music, which ranges from delicate melodies to majestic fugues.

The concert will take place on December 16th at St Peters on Willis, one of the most beautiful and historic churches in the city. You can choose between two performances: 2pm or 8pm. The 8pm concert will be partially performed by candlelight.
