Love to sing while you're driving? On a walk? In the shower? Then this joyful, soulful, uplifting community choir is for you! Our choir is:

Easy to join in and sing because singing experience is never needed, and, because all songs are taught by ear, call-and-repeat-style, there's no music to read!
Non-audition, non-performative, and anti-perfectionistic.
Welcoming, accepting, and inclusive. We create a safe, non-judgmental, collaborative space that's supportive for all, especially if you're feeling nervous.
SO. MUCH. FUN.

So...what kinds of songs do we sing?

Led by Marv Zauderer, we sing short-form, non-religious, easy-to-learn songs mostly sourced from the modern community singing movement -- unison songs, chants, rounds, layer songs, and 2-, 3-, and 4-part harmony songs.
Songs are selected for their ability to rejuvenate, soothe, uplift and inspire! Songs of belonging, songs of healing, songs of hope, songs of joy.
Feel free to check out our YouTube page or our website for videos and audio of our choirs singing together, and our Song Library, which has every song we've ever sung so far -- and there will be a number of new songs this season!

And this season, instead of drop-in, we're doing a 7-week series, which, although similar in most ways to our drop-in choirs, brings you unique benefits that come from being part of a consistent group:

Some of our songs can be juicier, richer songs that take parts of 2-3 successive afternoons to learn. So juicy!
We get to co-create and experience a deeper feeling of community with each other!
We'll have a San Anselmo choir (on Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm) as well; in registering for either series you can go to one, the other, or BOTH every week. (it will be very similar in each location during any particular week, but not necessarily identical)
The 7th week, Sunday May 5, we'll be holding a Big Sing in San Anselmo with special guest Kele Nitoto -- a wonderful celebration of singing together and building community! This is NOT a performance -- our Novato and San Anselmo choirs will join together, we'll invite family and friends and the community, I'll teach all the songs to the entire gathering, and we'll all sing them together! And then we'll enjoy a potluck dinner in community with choir members' guests. This Big Sing is going to be amazing! (Big Sing 3:30-5:30, potluck dinner 5:30-7:00)
Singers who haven't sung with me before can try it out FREE for ONE of the first two weeks (March 24 or March 31) before committing to the series.

Here are some of the comments from singers in past seasons:

"The love and connection and magic in the room last night filled my spirit. Our voices were amazing!"
"Marv has an easy upbeat teaching style that enables quick grasp of the words and melodies. Good vibe with everyone. Simple but engaging songs."
"Thank you for reawakening the love of singing in me."
"I loved every minute of it. It fed my heart and soul!"
"I could never find a group/choir that fit my vocal skill level. What you're offering is just what I was looking for!"
"I left feeling so nurtured by the wonderful camaraderie we all had with each other, and by your way of teaching us these heartfelt and loving songs that are filled with positivity and hope!"

The details:

We're in the big Hill Community Room space at the Margaret Todd Senior Center each Sunday afternoon, 4:00-5:30, March 24-April 28, plus the Big Sing at Duncan Hall in San Anselmo on Sunday, May 5 (singing 3:30-5:30, potluck 5:30-7:00). We'll have some fans/doors/windows open for airflow and the massive heating system going to keep us warm if needed.
Sliding scale cost for the 7-week series including the Big Sing: $105-$175. Your payment is for the entire series, regardless of attendance. If you make it to 4 or 5 of the sessions, it's still a great deal! And remember, you can sing with us in San Anselmo any Wednesday night too if you like!
Early Bird Discount if you register by March 11 at 11:59pm: $90 (such a deal!).
Kids under 18 are FREE with accompanying adult.
And, if you haven't sung with me before, feel free to try it one day FREE on 3/24 or 3/31! (Don't worry about missing the first week, it's not a problem!)
Our COVID policy is required reading before you attend.

Come and co-create the magic of singing in community in the Joyous Voices Chorus! Reserve your seat in our 7-week Spring '24 Season by clicking the orange Get Tickets button -- and don't forget the Early Bird Discount through 3/11 -- I hope to sing with you!
