Judy Paster and The Fractals
Event description
Judy Pastor
Judy Paster is a Nashville-based, Pennsylvania-grown Americana artist whose music carries the soul of her story—honest, authentic, and full of hope. She began writing songs at age 8, using music to process pain, faith, and a longing for peace after a childhood marked by trauma and loss. Later, her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s and a season of living on the road out West further shaped both her heart and her voice.
Her debut with The Judy Paster Trio features two Grammy-winning members of The Time Jumpers, weaving fiddle, upright bass, and acoustic guitar into a rich, rootsy sound. Her songs have been featured in film and TV (Christmas Crush, The Holiday Exchange, Music City Mistletoe), and she first gained national attention when Billboard called her “an artist truly on the rise” following the release of her debut EP. Since moving to Nashville, Judy has earned airplay, carved out a place in the singer-songwriter scene, and received multiple awards, including the 2021 Josie Music Award for Folk/Americana Artist of the Year and a Canadian Covenant Award (Canada’s equivalent of the Dove Award) for co-writing Jazz Blues Song of the Year.
She has written and shared stages with some of Music City’s top writers, released five albums (Judy Paster, Stronger, Rubies, Rocks & Stones, Like Stardust, Road to the Sun), and several singles. Judy is also part of Women Behind the Lyrics—a national tour and upcoming reality TV series that follows the lives of
four female Country artists living and touring together.
She frequently performs at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe and has graced many of Nashville’s premier stages. Through it all, her music remains a steady companion—for herself and for others—offering light, strength, and something real in a world that too often sells the opposite.

The Fractals

Guess what happens when a trio of three martini lunches staggers toward a ragged copy of “Respect For Acting,” stumbling over bellbottom into plasticine porters, hissing like 8-Tracks, knocking over emo kids with Flying Vees? The Fractals, that’s what happens, and they have been happening for ten years. Tearing it up mercilessly in a cyclonic maelstrom of Stevie-cum-Angus-cum-Fagan, with outer bands of Zeppelin and Trane, the whirling dervish that is The Fractals is not to be ignored. Kevin Hanson, lead singer and songwriter, has performed and recorded with the likes of Usher, Jay-Z, The Roots, Musiq Soulchild and countless others. He appears in the acclaimed films "Fade To Black" as a band member for Jay-Z's "farewell concert) and Dave Chappelle's "Block Party" as a member of the house band . His distinctive songwriting is what has drawn so many to both Huffamoose and his current band. His compositions and masterful guitar playing are the spinal cord of The Fractals. Jim Stager, bassist, has performed and recorded with hundreds of artists, ranging from Rosemary Clooney (!) to the legendary punk band "X". His mastery of rock and jazz merge in a style that has earned him a place in the pantheon of Philadelphia's notable session greats.
Erik Johnson, drummer, has performed or recorded with countless artists in myriad styles. His credits include: Ben Schachter's Trio of Many, George Garzone, Tim Hagans, Jack Walrath, Gary Bartz, John Swana, Jef Lee Johnson, Ralph Bowen, Larry McKenna, Jim Ridl, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Kurt Elling, Gerald Veasley, Lelia Broussard, Liz Longley. In addition to his legendary status as a jazz virtuoso, his drumming has served as the heartbeat for a striking range of
Philadelphia's singer-songwriter community. His fiercely original expressiveness on drums and soaring background vocals have
become vital to The Fractals' sound. The Fractals have recently completed their first full-length offering, "Heavy Rotation" and are currently performing in the Philly area in support of their new release. Their live performances are not to be missed, and their shows have gained notoriety among local musicians and fans alike as remarkable musical events.
