Jukebox Blues Creative Lab

What is it?
A monthly gathering for blues enthusiasts to learn, create, and share in a relaxed, collaborative environment. This isn’t a formal class but a ++++space for intentional practice, exploration, and connection with the local dance community.

Each session includes:
- A group warm-up with foundational blues movements
- A guided exploration of new moves and concepts
- An hour of open practice for free exploration, reflection, and creative expression

This is a space to follow your curiosity—exploring whatever excites you about the dance, music, or culture. Together, we’ll share ideas and deepen our understanding of blues.

Structure

3:00–3:15 Arrival, introductions, individual warm-up

3:15–4:00 Guided warm-up & blues movement drills

4:00–5:00 Partner dancing class

5:00–6:00 Open practice / social dancing

6:30 PM Live blues social at Field & Fin

This is a relaxed space where you can drop in at any point, though arriving for the movement drills, class, or social dancing will help you get the most out of it. The lab is open to all levels and there'll always be something to explore, regardless of lead/follow balances or previous experience. Just bring your curiosity and love for the music!Afterwards, we’ll head around the corner to Field & Fin for food, drinks, and live blues. Hope to see you there!
