July Devonport Safe Spaces Peer Support
Event description
This is for you! These peer support sessions are for the people who support or supported a family member and or friend living with mental health and or alcohol and other drug use. These sessions are a safe time and place for you to talk to, learn from, and provide and recieve support from other families and friends. Safe Spaces Peer Support provides an opportunity to be listened to, to share your experiences and wisdom with others with similar lived experience, and to connect with others who get it.Â
You can come along for a whole session, or just a little while. You can share your story, or you can just listen; whatever makes you comfortable.Â
These sessions are hosted by the Lived Experience Project Officer, and Social Worker
Still not sure if this is for you? Do you identify as someone who:
- Lives in Tasmania

- Provides informal emotional, social, practical, financial, physical, and or mental support to a family member and or friend living with mental ill health and or alcohol and other drug useÂ
- Impacted by a family member's and or friend's mental ill health and or alcohol and other drug use, but not necessarily "involved"
- Wants to feel heard, understood, and take a moment to look after themselves
- Wants to build their capacity and confidence in their support role - whatever that support role may look like
