Jumar Masterclass: Data Rooms, Capital Raising & Investor Readiness in Biotech
Description
A practical session on building a data room that VCs, funders and pharma buyers can review with confidence
Great science opens the door, but investors and acquirers need more than promising data before they commit. They need to verify it, and the data room is where that happens. It turns your pitch into a clear, well-organised record investors can trust, and shows the operational discipline that gives them confidence in you.
Biotech data rooms are built around core elements: company overview, product or technology, evidence base, IP, regulatory strategy, market and competitor analysis, financials and team. The same structure applies whether you're a drug or device company, and whether you're raising from a VC, a strategic investor or heading into a buyout. What changes with stage is complexity, not structure. A seed-stage company might not have run a study yet, but the folder for it still exists, with the plan for that work inside. Your data room grows with your commercial plan, rather than being built from scratch each time.
What you'll learn
Aligning your data room with your pitch, so every claim is backed by a source document
Tools for organising, storing, sharing and protecting your data, and managing access at different deal stages
Responsible use of AI with confidential data
What reviewers look for in each area (science, regulatory, manufacturing, IP, commercial, team)
Being upfront about known risks, and why that builds credibility
What belongs in your investor memo
Common pitfalls that slow down rounds and deals
Who should attend
Start-ups and founders preparing for, or currently in, a capital raise, or thinking ahead to partnering or acquisition conversations
Researchers generating data for a potentially commercialisable product, particularly those from a scientific or technical background who want to understand the investor and buyer lens
Advisors, coaches and board members who support biotech ventures through funding and deal processes
You'll leave with
A practical data room framework you can apply immediately
A clearer picture of how different reviewers approach diligence
Strengthening confidence to walk into your next investor or partner conversation well prepared
