Keynote Speaker:


James Bull, Special Counsel at Hall & Wilcox
James has 14 years of experience working across a broad range of commercial transactions, with a focus on private mergers & acquisitions and venture capital transactions. His clients include private and public companies, venture capital funds, startups, investors, family-owned businesses, government departments and SMEs. James co-leads the firm’s start-up practice and runs the ‘Frank Lab’ start-up accelerator program. His work with high growth companies means he acts as a trusted advisor to many founders and entrepreneurs. James regularly works with technology businesses but has experience across a wide range of industries including food & beverage, agriculture, financial services, manufacturing and retail. James has experience working in the US, having undertaken a secondment with New York based law firm Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, where he acted on a number of large debt and equity transactions.

Jasmine Koh, Senior Associate & Head of Frank Startup Practice at Hall & Willcox
Jasmine has experience working across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, in particular, private mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, venture capital transactions, restructures, and corporate governance. Jasmine is also experienced in advising emerging growth companies and is enthusiastic about how technology can improve legal practice. Jasmine co-leads the firm’s startup practice, Frank, runs the ‘Frank Lab’ startup accelerator program, and is a trusted adviser to many in the startup industry. Jasmine has experience working as a general counsel to a successful Australian fintech which specialises in fintech and payments, where she advised on one of the largest early-stage capital raising rounds in Australia at the time with investors such as Sequoia, TenCent and Mastercard.

Nigel Blair, CEO Medical Products Hub
With over 30 years of business experience, including two decades of running his own enterprises, Nigel has amassed a wealth of unique global insights as a true citizen of the world. He has lived and worked in Australia, China, the UK, and the USA, while also establishing enduring business ventures in Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. His extensive network spans multiple sectors and geographies, encompassing both business and government. Nigel boasts extensive operational expertise across various industries, including property, healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, water, and agriculture. He is actively involved in international trade and has considerable experience in nurturing early-stage intellectual property companies. Furthermore, Nigel has developed products for the humanitarian sector that are produced in Thailand and used globally by aid organisations, and he is a recognized patent holder for these innovations.


Jonathan Barlow, Director of Kinetic Venture Advisory
Jonathan has over 20 years’ experience working with major pharmaceutical, biotech and technology-driven organisations, both in Australia and overseas. Jonathan practised in commercial and intellectual property law at Allens, a leading international law firm, before joining the pharmaceuticals division of Mayne Group Limited (later Hospira Inc.) where he served as Legal Director – Asia Pacific. Jonathan joined Telix Pharmaceuticals early in its journey to becoming an ASX Top 100 company, starting out as General Counsel in 2018 before also becoming head of Business Development in 2021. Jonathan has also founded Kinetic Venture Advisory, a boutique consulting practice focussed on supporting the commercialisation of new Australian-originated technologies across the life sciences and technology sectors. In addition to his science and law qualifications, he is a Graduate of Melbourne Business School, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Asialink Leaders Program.
