Event description

Who: Mollydooker Wines

Where: 80 Coppemine Road, McLaren Vale

When: 9am – 11am

What: Plants, Plants and more Plants

Friends,

I’ll keep this brief, not because there’s a train to catch (although wouldn’t that be nice?), but because I know you’ve probably got important things to do—like looking for that missing gumboot or wondering if the dog ate your gloves......

Anyway, I digress —
It’s planting time again! The killin’ season is done and dusted, the rains have softened things up beautifully, and the ground is practically begging for native seedlings. So we’re heading back to Mollydooker Vineyards to continue the good work we kicked off there last June.

If you haven’t been there before, just find Coppermine Road (not the one with actual copper, just the road with the name) and drive north. Don’t stop at the Cellar Door, just keep going straight. No detours, no distractions. Pretend you’re on a mission.  Go over the hill through the creek crossing and your there!

We’ve got around 750 plants to get into the ground, plus all the usual fun of stakes, guards, mulch, and moments of wondering whether we’re planting in a straight line (we’re not, and it’s fine).

We’ll supply all of the mentioned with the addition of some questionable banter. And when all’s said and planted, we’ll kick back for a well-earned BBQ and beverage with mates - old and new. No band this time—just the sweet sound of satisfied digging and maybe a magpie warbling something atmospheric.

And, Yes, the McLaren Vale Marathon is on that morning, and sure—there’ll be road closures. But will that stop us? Not a chance. We’ll dodge runners, weave through detours, and make it to the planting site like champions of the shrubbery.

If you're planning to come, hit the RSVP button below so we know how many snags to throw on the grill.

Cheers,
Geoff H
