We are buzzing with excitement for you to join us at the Junior Hive Academy.

A little bit about Amanda, your Junior Hive Academy teacher.

Amanda is a primary school teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience. As the Education Coordinator for Bee Inspired, she is passionate about helping children understand the importance of bees, their essential role in pollination and food security, and the unique learning opportunities that come from connecting with nature.

A few things to note prior to your visit:

Arrival: Classes are held at Burnetts on Barney (80 Barney St, Kiama). Please arrive at The Glasshouse (located inside Burnetts on Barney), 5 mins prior to class time. Amanda, your Hive Academy teacher will be there to meet you.

Departure: Classes will finish at 4:30pm. Please ensure you are at The Glasshouse classroom by 4:25pm, ready to collect your child as the nursery closes at 4:30pm.

Parking: Parents- you are welcome to drop your child off and then come back to collect them at 4:30pm. If you wish to stay, please park out on Barney St as the nursery closes at 4:30pm and the Quarry Cafe closes at approximately 3pm.

Clothing: At times, the Glasshouse classroom can be warmer or cooler depending on the weather outside. Please ensure your child has a jumper/jacket to keep them warm or remove if they need to cool down. Children are welcome to bring along a drink bottle. As we are located in a working nursery/apiary space, please ensure your child is wearing enclosed shoes for safety purposes. A more detailed email will be sent out regarding attire to be worn for our Apiary visit later in the term.

Allergies: If you have not already done so, please notify Amanda if your child has any allergies or anything you'd like her to be aware of when you arrive at your child's first class. Amanda is trained in First Aid and has a full Working With Children Check.
