Junior Hive Academy- After-School Bee School for kids aged 5-12 years
Description
Go deeper into the fascinating world of bees in this hands-on, eight-week program designed for curious young learners. Classes run on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm at Burnetts on Barney Nursery in Kiama, NSW.
Each week, students will explore a different part of the honeybee world, including how bees live and work together, the importance of pollination, the role of a beekeeper, and simple ways we can support bees in our own backyards.
Students will take part in engaging activities, build practical knowledge and safely admire live bees up close through our fully enclosed display frames. The 8 week program will conclude with a visit up to our hives to put their bee keeping skills to the test.
At the end of the eight-week program, every student will proudly earn their official Junior Beekeeper Badge.
Casual bookings are welcome however students need to attend the full 8-week program to receive their 'Beekeeper Badge'.
Timing has been designed for parents to pick kids up after school and bring them up to Burnetts for an hour while parents can plant shop at Burnetts or run errands around town in Kiama.
All lessons will be taught by Bee Inspired Teachers who have WWCC.
Classes commence on Thursday 6th August and run until Thursday 24th September 2026.
