About the Event
Join us on the hill for an evening of connection, conversation and community, Sponsored by Fruit Growers Australia, FRRR
& Blackdog Ride.
Just A Farmer is more than a film—it’s a movement. Told through the eyes of a grieving farming family, this award-winning Australian drama shines a light on the mental health struggles often faced in silence across rural communities.
At once raw and compassionate, the film has sparked important conversations across the country—offering a space to acknowledge hardship, honour resilience, and advocate for real change.
Fruit Growers Australia is proud to present this special community screening of Just A Farmer as part of its nationwide roadshow, with an opportunity to hear from its powerhouse producer, writer and lead actor Leila McDougall, who will join us in person for a post-film Q&A.
Enjoy a comforting roast dinner on us and gather with others to reflect, share stories, and take part in a much-needed conversation.
This is a free community event, but bookings are essential.
Due to the emotional themes explored in the film, this is an 18+ event.
