2nd Annual Jay Williams Legacy Fund Awards & Fundraiser

A night to remember. A legacy to continue.

Following the success of our inaugural event in 2025, the Jay Williams Legacy Fund Awards & Fundraiser returns for its second year, bringing our community together once again to honour Jay’s legacy, celebrate young people, and support the next generation.

The Jay Williams Legacy Fund was created to carry forward the work Jay cared deeply about: creating opportunities, supporting young people, and recognizing the resilience, authenticity, leadership, service, and equity they bring to their communities.

Jay Williams was a transformative educator, mentor, and advocate for Black youth in Toronto. A Black man from Malvern, an athlete, an intellectual, and a rebel with a purpose, Jay challenged traditional ideas of what it meant to be a teacher and showed young people what it meant to lead with authenticity and purpose.

The Jay Williams Legacy Awards are not about the “perfect student.” They recognize young people who have faced barriers, been overlooked or misunderstood, and continued to persist, grow, lead, and make an impact in their communities.

This year, we’re continuing that work.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of awards, music, performances, food, connection, and purpose as we celebrate this year’s recipients and raise funds to continue providing awards, bursaries, and opportunities for young people.
