K2W Link events - Crookwell Show

K2W Link is presenting a series of short talks and workshops at the Crookwell Show as part of the Thrive Through Drought initiative. The series of workshops will present scientific information relating to environmental work on your property or farm. 

10:00am: Eucalypt Ecology 101 - Learn about the habitats these trees thrive in and find out the ideal climate and environmental preferences for different eucalypt species, understand the optimal planting seasons for success, and explore the variety of eucalypt species. Learning how to choose the perfect species for your outcomes. (20 minutes). 

12:00pm: Amazing Australian Birds - Discover the secrets of some of Australia's endangered bird species and find out what actions we can take to play a part in their survival. (20 minutes). This interactive session is for kids and adults.

2:30pm: Playtpus and Aquatic Habitats - Delve into the fascinating world of the platypus, a unique Australian icon and explore the vital role of conservation efforts in protecting platypuses and their habitats. Plus learn tips to spotting them in the wild. (20 minutes). For kids and adults. 

4pm: Decoding the Wild: Scats & Tracks - Learn to read the signs left behind by animals that inhabit the Upper Lachlan region. Discover the role of tracking in wildlife monitoring and research and see real-life samples. (20 minutes). For kids and adults.

Throughout the day, you'll encounter short performances of the Squirrel Glider play, brought to life by the talented actors from the Eaton Gorge Theatre Company. Keep an eye out for signage at the event for performance times!
