Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre Tour
Event description
Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a Black cockatoo?
Now you can…come and join us on a Private tour of Kaarakin – one of Perth hills’ most unique wildlife parks, specialising in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of endemic black cockatoos.
- Learn about the black cockatoo rehabilitation program from rescue to release back into the wild.
- Meet some resident black cockatoos. These birds would have trouble surviving in the wild, so live at Kaarakin as active ambassadors for their species.
- Come inside Jack’s Interactive Aviary to get up close to our resident black cockatoos. These cockatoos are curious, gentle and friendly. You can hand feed them some gumnuts. Be ready to be used as a perch!
- Spy the emus, ducks, guinea fowl and peacocks, kangaroos and dingoes.
Please wear enclosed shoes, hat and preferably a long sleeve shirt, with minimal buttons. Be prepared to remove jewellery…the cockies love to nibble!
Some physical fitness is required as there is uneven bush grounds and slight inclines. The tour is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs.
The tour takes around 75 mins, so bring a water bottle.
Arrive 10 minutes earlier to meet in carpark.
