Illegal Dumping Workshop (Sydney)

This event has passed Register

Event description

In consideration of recent restrictions introduced to address the COVID-19 threat, we have made the decision to postpone this seminar.

Our primary concern is for the health and wellbeing of attendees, speakers and our staff, and in the current climate, it would not be feasible to proceed as we had planned.

We are currently working with the venue on a revised date for the event, and will be in touch once this has been confirmed.

If you have questions, please contact events@knswb.org.au. We will endeavour to respond to all enquiries as quickly as possible

Thank you for your continued support as we all navigate this unprecedented situation.

Illegal dumping can harm the health of humans and wildlife, contaminate the environment, pollute waterways, affect local amenities, and reduces community’s pride of place. Dumping often occurs out of sight, undetected and anonymously and cost millions of dollars of taxpayer money each year to clean up.

The NSW Illegal Dumping Strategy target has been set to reduce illegal dumping incidents across NSW by 30%, by 2020.

This seminar will allow Councils and land managers to share information and learn from one another about practical prevention measures to combat illegal dumping in their local areas.

Hear about local and state-wide research, strategies and policies, funding opportunities, actions that are being undertaken to address illegal dumping, learn from successful case studies and discuss solutions to combat the unacceptable behaviour of illegal dumping.
