Kahuna Bodywork is rooted in the ancient principles and practices of the Kahuna - it's a practice created by native Hawaiian Kahuna, Kahu Abraham Kawai'i, that teaches not through technique but through principles. You will learn not only learn how to perform Kahuna Bodywork, you will also come to a deep and honest understanding of Self. It is from this place that genuine transformation becomes possible - for you and for those you work with.

Most students come because they want to learn how to help others. What they discover is something they weren't expecting - a path that is profound, immersive, and sometimes challenging in the most extraordinary ways.

What you will learn

Over seven days at our dedicated teaching space in the Byron Bay hinterland, you will learn the foundational movements of Ka'aleleau - the somatic movement practice that sits at the heart of Kahuna Bodywork. You will learn how to work with Ki energy, how to move from your centre, how to generate Mana and how these ancient principles that underpin the practice extend far beyond the bodywork table into every aspect of your life.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Every student is taught individually within the group and progresses at their own pace.

Your teacher

Ki'a'i Ho'okahi Weber studied with Kahu Abraham Kawai'i for 16 years in Hawai'i, becoming part of his family and learning in the traditional apprentice way. She is a certified Master of Kahuna Bodywork (Hawai'i 2001) with over 30 years of experience as a practitioner. She brings this work with great compassion, humility and depth. She is supported by Joy Barber Hua, an instructor with over 14 years experience in guiding students.

The venue

Halau Nuholani is our dedicated teaching space, nestled in Mount Jerusalem National Park in the Byron Bay hinterland - approximately 50 minutes from Gold Coast/ Ballina airports and 2 hours from Brisbane. Shuttle buses operate to Mullumbimby and Byron Bay, and we offer a pick-up service from there to the retreat centre.
