Event description

Kia ora,

Kaiarahi Cultural Collective for the past 3 years have supported over 40 ordinary people to successfully complete the Mountain Designs "GeoQuest" 48hr Adventure Challenge, a 130km race where teams of 4 navigate their way on foot, mountain bikes and kayaks over lakes, mountains and bush to complete the course within 48 hours.

We have used this event as a vehicle to raise awareness of community mental health issues that contribute to the high rates of suicide particularly by males, whilst also showing how important our natural environment is to our overall well-being.

On March 15th, we are challenging some of our men to step into an even more vulnerable space and take to the stage to deliver a concert to our community to raise funds for our Kaiarahi Geoquest 2025 Campaign.

For most of our performers, this will be their first time stepping up to face their fears and to provide a show of covers to entertain our guests. Our event is our way of showing that it's more often than not the mental and emotional challenges that many of us struggle to articulate how we're feeling. "Up2Bro" is a reminder for us all to keeping checking in on those closest to us and not to take any moment together for granted.

Join us on the 15th for night of entertainment and fun.

Our group of would-be singers are being supported by Roly Nikora's band, and also Dj Rangi Kowhai who will end the night with some "actual" classic sounds to help us celebrate and dance the night away.

The venue will be providing basic bar food and Happy Hour prices all night to support our cause.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Nga mihi (Many Blessings).
