Description

Aspect Film Club is a community film club for people of colour.

For October, Aspect Film Club presents KAILI BLUES (路边野餐), a Chinese mystery drama written and directed by Bi Gan.

Set in the south-western Chinese countryside with a cast predominantly made of non-actors, KAILI BLUES is Bi Gan's directorial debut. The film follows Chen Sheng (Chen Yongzhong), an ex-convict and rural doctor searching for his missing nephew. Along the way, he encounters figure from his past and his future as he reckons with his understanding of reality.

ABOUT THE HOSTS:

Aspect Film Club is designed for people of colour to connect with fellow film lovers and watch cinema from around the world. Allies are kindly requested to respect the intentions of the space.

Our mission is to intentionally build and foster community. We choose to centre people of colour in an effort to move away from the whiteness/white sensibilities that can dominate arts communities and conversations. We want to develop into a place for you to regularly catch up with friends, connect with new people, watch a movie on a big screen, and celebrate cinema.

Thank you to everybody who comes to our events! <3
