Description

Sydney Kendo Events and NSWKA are proud to announce the 2026 Kamei Sensei Seminar - and this year, the seminar carries a special purpose.

All net proceeds from this event will go directly to the Australian Kendo Team’s campaign for the 18th World Kendo Championships in 2027. Every ticket sold helps fund training camps, coaching, equipment and travel for the players representing Australia on the world stage. By attending, you’re not just sharpening your kendo — you’re putting our team on the floor in 2027.

Not to be missed! This two-day seminar will be held on the weekend of 18–19 July 2026 at Abbotsleigh School, Wahroonga. Welcoming kendoka from all over the world.

Led by 8-Dan Kamei Toru Hanshi Sensei, visiting from Japan, the seminar will cover a wide variety of kendo practice and techniques. Everything from kihon to advanced techniques — expect a fun, engaging and challenging weekend of kendo!

Grading later this year? This event cannot be missed!

Lunch is not included in ticket prices and you will be able to order bento boxes directly from our site closer to the event, or bring your own.

SUPPORTING TEAM AUSTRALIA

The 18th World Kendo Championships will be held in 2027, and the Australian squad is already preparing. Representing Australia at the WKC requires significant investment.

By attending this seminar, you are directly funding that campaign. Net proceeds from every ticket — Standard Weekend, Dojo 5-Pack and single-day — go to the Australian Kendo Team via Kendo Australia.

Dojo tickets are available for you and 4 dojo mates at a great discount. There are limited dojo tickets available, so get together with your kendo crew and grab a 5-pack for the weekend.

Discounts are only available on weekend tickets. General single-day tickets are available to purchase at any time in advance of the seminar — make sure you select the day you are planning to attend.

Under 18s:

A discounted Junior Weekend Pass is available for participants aged 11–17. A completed Parental/Guardian Consent & Acknowledgement Form is required for all participants under 18. This form must be submitted to the organisers prior to the event. Participants without a completed form will not be permitted to train. The consent form will be provided upon ticket purchase.

Further details on the social dinner on the Saturday will be sent to ticket holders in advance of the event.

This is shaping up to be the kendo seminar of the year — don’t miss out! Ganbatte!

We look forward to seeing you on the floor — and to sending Team Australia to the world stage in 2027.
