Kamp Kraken presents: Shit You Should Know 2026

Somewhere in Melbourne, right now, a person is five years deep down a rabbit hole they thought would last just a few days. They've attended at least three weekend workshops, and they're annoying their friends because they keep on bringing it up at parties. All they've ever wanted is some undivided attention, a microphone and a chance to explain.

SYSK is where it finally happens.

The idea is deceptively simple. We gather people who have an unreasonable amount of knowledge about one thing and give them seven minutes to tell us about it.

A theory about medieval plumbing. The reason a discontinued synthesiser sounds the way it does. What's actually in those jars on the highest shelves. None of it is useful in the way we usually use that word, but almost all of it will stick in your head, and that's the point.

We're polishing up our own act this year too. The ticketing will work, the door won't be chaotic (well, sort of) and the night no longer ends when the talks do, because afterwards there are DJs, a firepit, and a marquee to hold off the rain and for standing around and chatting to actual human beings under the winter stars.

You stay. You eat. You drink. You compare notes about something weird you just learned. Maybe you have a shimmy on the dance floor. You leave as a slightly more interesting person than when you arrived.

Every cent goes towards getting the Kraken Sub where it needs to go.
