Event description

Have you ever seen a Kangaroo River Perch? This now elusive fish was once common along the Kangaroo River. It has not been recorded since 1998.

Join us for the Premiere film screening of “the Forgotten Fish” – a story about the search for a species that has gone missing from the river.

This short film by award-winning Australian wildlife videographer Alex Pike showcases the immense beauty of the Kangaroo and Shoalhaven Rivers while providing an insight into one of nature’s mysteries. Was the Search for the Perch a success?

At this FREE event, you will have an opportunity to hear from Alex Pike, as well as Erin Lake, Fisheries Manager for Threatened Species in the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Hang around after the film and Q&A for some light refreshments.
