Karl S. Williams & Sally Wiggins with Ashleigh Bo
Event description
It’s a tour, with friends! We’re sharing stages with friends old and new as we traverse the east coast in February and March 2025 sharing new material from our upcoming EP recorded live at MONA’s Frying Pan Studios.
We are privileged to be returning to Pearces Creek Hall for an intimate afternoon show on Sunday March 16, from 3pm. There will be tea and cake available for purchase.
Joining us will be local singer-songwriter Ashleigh Bo who creates dark and beautiful music that we truly love and who we have long hoped to do a show with.
In her own words:
Ashleigh Bo wanders through the dark romantic. Songs woven together intimately & emotionally, reflecting deeply personal stills of time and rumination’s on the past.
Compelling states of nostalgia & melancholy, Ashleigh affectionately delves into the depths of the human experience through love, loss, relationships, regret and all the spaces in between.
You can listen to her songs Nana Joy, Broken Head Hill & The Essex Wit all written and recorded locally at The Music Farm and produced by Wayne Connolly.
A little more about us:
Karl S. Williams and Sally Wiggins make music that is steeped in blues, gospel and old-time folk, with poetic sensibilities that call to mind the classic singer-songwriters of yesteryear. As their collaboration has blossomed, new material has emerged centred around Sally’s mesmeric playing and incorporating elements of fife and drum music and New Orleans clave rhythms. The first record of this collaboration will be captured live at MONA’s Frying Pan Studios in February of 2025 and is set to be released soon thereafter accompanied by live video from the studio sessions.
Expect a show which ranges from acoustic intimacy and hypnotic spirituals to rollicking New Orleans piano blues.
