Karrawirra Parri (River Torrens) Nature Walk
Event description
Join us for our first nature walk of 2025 on Saturday, March 29th, as we explore the heart of 'Green' Adelaide along Karrawirra Parri (River Torrens). While often regarded as the perfect lunch spot or a great place for a morning/afternoon walk, the Torrens is also home to a vast array of native (and non-native) wildlife, making it the perfect example of urban biodiversity.
We will meet on Victoria Drive (Gate 8, University of Adelaide) at 9:45am for a 10am start. We will then make our way up to St. Peters Billabong and take a short break to observe any wildlife present, before making our way back to Victoria Drive.
Spots are limited, so bookings are essential!
This walk is suitable for all fitness levels as well as most access levels (concreted pathway, mostly flat with some occasional uphill/downhill areas). There is a wheelchair accessible entrance at St. Peters Billabong.
What to bring:
- Good walking shoes (and comfortable attire)
- Hat & sunscreen
- Water bottle
- Binoculars/camera (optional!)
Our committee will bring along some ID books to refer to, however the more the merrier! See you then!
