Event description

AIYA Victoria is proud to present the Kartini Day Talk Show: The Role of Women in Building Intercultural Bridges between Australia and Indonesia. This panel and networking event will showcase two Australian and two Indonesian leaders helping facilitate intercultural interaction between Australia and Indonesia, and demonstrating the importance of female leadership in strengthening the bilateral relationship and building people-to-people connections. The timing of this event also seeks to pay homage to the late Indonesian national heroine, Raden Adjeng Kartini, whose letters regarding the necessity of women’s education in building a strong, benevolent society continue to be applicable in both the Indonesian and Australian contexts.

This event will consist of three parts: a talk show, Q&A session, and networking session. The talk show portion will provide our speakers with a chance to reflect on their personal journey, as well as discuss and compare their personal insights gained throughout their career with the other speakers. The Q&A session and networking session will provide our participants a chance to network and ask questions to help develop their careers or answer any questions they may have on professional development.

Our fantastic speakers include: Mikaylie Page (ASEAN-Auatralia Strategic Youth Partnership/AASYP)", Rima Sundusita (Consulate General of Indonesia, Melbourne), Yacinta Kurniasih (Monash University) and Adelaide Pope (AASYP). Together, they provide a diverse range of expertise from various sectors including: international relations and diplomacy, education, creative literature, journalism, law and much more

Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
