Kawenata | Charter Signing ceremony - expression of interest
Event description
On February 11, 2025, Te Tauihu Community Development Agency and Ngā Iwi o Te Tauihu o te Waka-a-Māui, and others who want to commit to our shared mission, will mark a significant milestone with the signing of a Kawenata (relationship agreement) at Whakatū Marae, 99 Atawhai Drive, in Nelson. This ceremony represents more than just a formal launch – it's an invitation to be part of a movement that will transform how we work together in Te Tauihu.
The Kawenata embodies our shared commitment to:
- Supporting each other to thrive
- Working collectively to address community challenges
- Creating positive change for generations to come
- Honoring Te Tiriti o Waitangi through authentic partnership
We invite you to join this transformative journey. Whether you're a small volunteer group or an established organisation, there's a place for you in this movement. Together, we can create a more connected, capable, and effective for-purpose sector that better serves the needs of Te Tauihu communities.
Ways to get involved:
You can show your commitment to our collective vision by signing the Kawenata too – either in person at the ceremony by getting the General Admission Ticket (spaces limited), or digitally by getting the Expression of Interest Ticket - to sign the Kawenata document afterwards.
