The Victoria University Postgraduate Association (VUPA) is taking VU postgraduate students out on the Yarra River for a City Sundowner Kayak Tour! 🛶🌆

Get ready for an evening of kayaking, dinner on the water, city views and good company as we paddle along the Yarra and enjoy Melbourne from a completely different perspective.

🌇 What’s included?

• Guided 2-person kayak tour along the Yarra River

• Sunset views of Melbourne’s city skyline

• Dinner served during the tour

• Meet and connect with fellow VU postgraduate students

📅 Event details

• Saturday, 17 October 2026

• 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM (⏰ Please arrive by 5:15 PM so we can begin the experience on time).

• 📍Boathouse Drive, Melbourne VIC 3004

• No kayaking experience is required! Stable two-person kayaks, paddling equipment and a guide are provided.

• Your ticket: just $20!

• 🍽️ Dinner: A range of dinner options will be available, including fish and chips, grilled fish and salad, vegetarian/vegan options, pasta and pizzas

• The actual cost of this experience is significantly higher, but thanks to SSAF funding, VUPA is able to heavily subsidise your ticket so you can enjoy this experience for just $20.

What to bring:

• Water bottle

• Hat and sunglasses

• Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather

• A change of clothes is recommended if you're heading somewhere afterwards

⚠️ Important information

• Participant limits: Maximum height 194 cm | Maximum weight 120 kg.

• Cancellations made within 5 days of the event will not be eligible for a refund.

• Tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Please make sure you can attend before purchasing your ticket.

• Please do not attend if you are not registered for the event. Only VU postgraduate students with a confirmed registration can participate. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-ins or unregistered guests.

• All participants must complete the required online waiver before arrival.

• There are no toilets 🚻at the meeting point, so please use the facilities at Federation Square, Flinders Street Station, Southbank or Alexandra Gardens before arriving.
