kayls - debut headline show!
Description
Local popstar-in-progress kayls is gearing up for their debut headline show, hot on the heels of their dreamy new single ‘Don’t Think Too Much’. With a full band in tow for the first time ever, kayls will take to Sydney’s intimate Eveleigh Hotel on Friday June 26 (with a spellbinding trio of supports to be announced in the coming weeks).
Serving as the canonical sequel to their debut single ‘I Wanna Die’, kayls' new bop explores the comedown of falling head-over-heels for someone, then realising it was more fantasy than love, all while quietly holding onto hope it could still change. Inspired by the indie-pop grit of RAGEFLOWER and jnr., the track pairs bright and punchy production with self-aware lyricism, landing as a hook-driven moment that captures both the clarity and contradiction of trying to move on.
kayls' first two singles, ‘I Wanna Die’ and ‘moon song', earned rapturous acclaim from critics and fans alike. They're backed by triple j and triple j Unearthed, and have also been spun on 2SER, 4ZZZ, JOY 94.9 and FBi Radio. On the live front, kayls has shared stages with national favourites like Miya Zawa, Worm Girlz and Sophie Edwards.
"I'm so so excited to show everyone what I've been working on and finally live my 'popstar with a band on the big stage' dreams!! I'm a bit nervous too but it'll be worth it!"
