KCRW’s Good Food x Grocery Goblin’s Stories In-Store: Egg
Description
Some of the best stories in Los Angeles are hiding in plain sight — on grocery shelves, behind deli counters, in the produce aisle. This October, KCRW’s Good Food and Grocery Goblin invites you to spend an evening among them.
After an incredible launch, KCRW’s Good Food and Grocery Goblin are back with installment #2 of Stories In-Store — and this time, we’re cracking open the ultimate culinary building block: EGG!
On Sunday, October 18th, we’re taking over Highland Park’s beloved Fresco Community Market. Grab a snack, wander the grocery aisles, and take in a night of sharp, funny, and unforgettable stories, essays, and poems.
Hosted by Vanessa Anderson — the culinary anthropologist behind Grocery Goblin — the evening features a special introduction from Good Food’s Evan Kleiman and brings together voices from every corner of the food world: Bill Addison, Khushbu Shah, Tatiana Ettensberger, Meghan McCarron, and Jamie Feldmar.
Come early, wander the aisles, grab a snack, and pull up a chair Sunday, October 18th at 7:30 PM at Fresco Community Market!
Space is limited — Reserve your seat and join us for a night in the aisles!

Vanessa Anderson is a writer and culinary anthropologist. Her project Grocery Goblin examines American culinary and consumer culture through the lens of the grocery store.
About Evan Kleiman
Evan Kleiman has been called the “fairy godmother of the L.A .food scene.” Former chef-restaurateur, cookbook author and longtime KCRW’s Good Food radio/podcast host, she’s known for her conversational interview style focusing on how food informs human life and choices.
Bill Addison
Bill Addison is the restaurant critic of the Los Angeles Times. He is recipient of the 2023 Craig Claiborne Distinguished Restaurant Review Award from the James Beard Foundation, among numerous other accolades. Addison was previously national critic for Eater and held food critic positions at the San Francisco Chronicle, the Dallas Morning News and Atlanta magazine.

Tatiana Ettensberger
Tatiana Ettensberger is co-owner, General Manager, and Wine Director of Wilde’s in Los Feliz, where she oversees the beverage program and all things front of house. A born-and-raised Angeleno, she worked in marketing in New York before returning to Los Angeles to follow her passion for natural wine at Lasita, Heaven’s Market, and Café Triste, where she served as GM and wine buyer. Those years, and her immersion in the natural wine world, shaped her vision for Wilde’s: a true neighborhood restaurant built on simple, rustic food, a small producer-driven wine list, and tight, attentive service, a place where guests are encouraged to make themselves at home and linger over a long meal and (if they're doing it right...) a few bottles.
Meghan McCarron
Meghan McCarron is a James Beard Award-winning journalist and, also, a writer of speculative fiction whose stories have been a finalists for the Nebula and World Fantasy Awards.
Jamie Feldmar
Jamie Feldmar is an award-winning writer, editor, and co-author. Her work has appeared in the LA Times, NY Times, Saveur, Lucky Peach, and many others. She has co-written seven cookbooks and one culinary memoir, and she is currently an editor at Resy and contributor to The Angel on Substack.
