Lineup
RIO KOSTA
Hypnotic grooves, sleek vocal harmonies in which two become one, and bass that hits you in the heart: RIO KOSTA excels at music that simply makes you feel. Key to the RIO KOSTA experience is a creative process that lets things evolve in their own direction. The band is formed by Mike Del Rio and Kosta Galanopoulos, two multi-instrumentalists and songwriters who each engaged in multiple projects, bands, and session work before uniting for their debut album, Unicorn. As exhilaratingly smooth as the RIO KOSTA sound is on record, it’s the live arena which is really their ballpark. You could visualise them lost in the moment as day drifts to night at Coachella, like spiritual cousins to Khruangbin, but you could just as equally imagine them amidst the psychedelic haze of the original Woodstock. LA based with a global energy, RIO KOSTA's sun-kissed sound echoes much of their respective heritages, with Kosta’s Greek background further flavoured by time in the Bahamas, and Mike being inspired by his Spanish and Italian roots, his time growing up in New York, and especially revisiting his identity following the passing of his Puerto Rican grandmother. Just as their music breaks free from genre constraints, their journey crosses borders without the need for a metaphorical passport. Almost a year from the day the first album track dropped, RIO KOSTA show no sign of simmering. Fall 2026 will see them open for Jungle across the US, UK and Europe precursed by a stacked summer festival season with performances on deck at Mad Cool, Osheaga, Electric Forest and Outsidelands - coming full circle from that fated festival intro not so long ago. Unicorn is out now on Verdigris Records.
KCRW DJ LUXXURY
LUXXURY's weekly show on KCRW is a genre-blurring deep dive mixing post-punk and proto-punk, from disco to dub, new wave to darkwave, and from stoner rock to rocksteady. Each episode, producer/songwriter Blake Robin (aka LUXXURY) erases the lines between rock and dance grooves of the past and present, playing genre classics alongside dubbed-out edits, vintage synthpop gems, and post-punk bangers all expertly reimagined with a modern twist. Blending seamless DJ sets with a crate-digger’s ear and a remixer’s touch LUXXURY delivers an immersive soundscape where hidden classics meet fresh remixes and musical history gets reassembled in real time.
KCRW DJ J.Rocc
One of the original turntablists, J.Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw, J.Rocc has collaborated with Madlib, J Dilla, Pete Rock, Common & Karriem Riggins. Known for incorporating a range of music from hip-hop, house, R&B / funk, new wave, disco to Brazilian with his signature style on the decks. J Rocc's first album of his own original production, Some Cold Rock Stuf, was released in 2011. Since then, he's released A Wonderful Letter (2022) and Beatitudes (2023). In addition, he has been commissioned to make mixes for labels such as Rawkus, Blue Note, Jazzman, Salsoul, Westend, Big Crown and also clothing brands Supreme & Union to name a few. He’s shared the stage with legends such as Moodymann, Peanut Butter Wolf, Egyptian Lover, Benji B, Giles Peterson, Jazzy Jeff, Kaytranda, Dām Funk, DJ Muro, DJ Koco and probably one of your favorite DJs. J.Rocc brings a distinct voice and a lifelong commitment to discovering, shaping and sharing music, plus he’s pretty good DJ.
